Claim: Colorado’s oil and gas regulations haven’t changed over the years and are the “same laws put into place . . . in 1951.”  

Fact: Colorado has gone through 14 rulemaking changes in the past nine years to strengthen its regulations and allow for new technological advancements in development.  The new rules have also provided a greater role for local governments in siting larger operations. Just recently, Colorado announced yet another initiative to address orphan wells and strengthen financial assurance.    To see all the changes from 2007 to 2017 please go here.
